I am an experienced therapist who works toward cultivating a space that allows you to connect with your genuine self. It is from that place that we are able to gain insight into why you do what you do and feel what you feel. I create a supportive and compassionate environment while providing guidance and direction to address any ways of being that may no longer serve you or your relationship.
CARL JUNG
"I am not what happened to me,
I am what I choose to become."
ABOUT ME
My approach to therapy is rooted in Yield Theory – using radical compassion to help people understand who they are and why they do what they do. I am an active therapist who strives to meet people exactly where they are and help them expand their awareness through mindfulness and a conscious understanding of themselves. I draw on creative analogies, metaphors, my psychodynamic training, and years of experience working with individuals from all walks of life. I employ a variety of different techniques and theories including Depth Psychology, Jungian Theory, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I believe therapy should create both a safe space to explore one's issues and a space to truly challenge oneself beyond what is comfortable in order to gain insight and achieve lasting change.
I specialize in a variety of different areas including trauma, anger management, stress management, anxiety, fertility issues, men's and women’s issues, blended families and parenting.
I received a Masters Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA License # 50196) with over fifteen years of experience and training in working with couples, families, individuals and children. I founded a counseling center in South Lake Tahoe and was the Director and Lead Clinical Supervisor at The Well Clinic in San Francisco. I am currently in private practice in both San Francisco and Oakland.

INDIVIDUAL
We all have times in life when the answers or change we desire eludes us. In individual therapy, I work with you to find the answers and insight within that can lead to a more fulfilling and aware way of being. I approach individual therapy in a dynamic, educational, compassionate and active way. I work to cultivate a space where you can feel truly open and comfortable to connect with your genuine self and achieve lasting change.
COUPLES
Relationships are integral to living a satisfying life. When our relationship is out of sync it can feel like nothing in life is going right. I work with couples to identify, work through and fundamentally change the behaviors and communication patterns that can lead to a dissatisfying relationship. In couples therapy, I create a space where each person can be heard and understood by their partner in order to deepen connection and find solutions. I have an active and educational hands-on approach to couples therapy.
FAMILY
Family is the foundation of well-being for many of us. Families go through so many changes as life unfolds. Therapy is a great place to explore these changes and learn how to best support one another. I work with all types of family issues including parenting, blended families, divorced- and single-parent families, loss and becoming new parents.
